The programme at a glance

The Undergraduate Programme in Food Science and Technology offers high-quality training with an interdisciplinary approach that integrates different areas of knowledge, providing scientific, technological and practical skills in the agri-food sector. Students will acquire solid knowledge in chemistry, biology, technology and engineering, with a particular focus on technologies applied to food production and processing. In addition to the curriculum in Food Science and Technology, there are also curricula in Viticulture and Oenology, and in Food Production and Management, the latter delivered entirely in English.

The teaching methodology, in addition to lectures, includes seminars, practical workshops and internships in companies or research institutes, both in Italy and abroad. The faculty provides students with state-of-the-art facilities for hands-on learning, including a micro-dairy, a winery, and an experimental brewery. In addition, a sensory analysis laboratory, compliant with ISO standards, is available. Thanks to the teaching methods offered, students will have the opportunity to directly apply the skills acquired and will be able to develop professional skills in real contexts by combining, in the best possible way, theory and practice.

At the end of the course, graduates in Food Science and Technology will be able to respond to the needs of agri-food companies, operating autonomously in all areas related to the production, processing and distribution of food and beverages. The main objective of the course is to train professionals able to continuously improve the quality and sustainability of food products, innovating production processes, to face the challenges of the sector in a global and dynamic context.

For those who wish to continue their studies, the three-year course offers a solid preparation for access to the Master's Degree in Food Science and Technology, as well as other master's degrees related to the agri-food supply chain.

The undergraduate degree programme in Food Science and Technology is structured in three profiles:
