Credits
To obtain the three-year degree, 180 university credits (CFU) are required, which are acquired to the extent of about 60 each year with evaluation tests both for the courses and for other supplementary teaching forms. Each exam is awarded a certain number of credits, the same for all students, and a grade (expressed in thirtieths) that varies according to the level of preparation. A course of 6 credits includes on average about 30 hours of lectures; A course of 12 credits includes about 60 credits. Courses can be taught according to a semester or annual calendar, as indicated in the timetable on the Faculty Notice Board. The final exam is evaluated in one hundred and tenths.

Through balanced choices within the options allowed by the study plan, it is possible, for students who have an interest in the ancient world in its most varied aspects (linguistic, literary, historical, archaeological, religious), to build a complete and articulated classical profile, which allows them to corroborate their language skills in Greek and Latin, lay solid foundations in the literary sectors, and orient oneself among the numerous disciplines related to the ancient world, starting to identify lines of interest that can be productively deepened later, during the master's degree. A profile such as the one indicated below, in addition to allowing a general literary education, also for the purposes of a possible subsequent teaching training, adequately prepares for a master's degree in Ancient Sciences, allowing the necessary formal and substantial requirements to be achieved.

In the field of modern literature, there are four profiles:

  • PHILOLOGICAL-LITERARY
  • History
  • Editorial Critic
  • Artistic-theatrical

This is the canonical profile of the degree in Literature in the field of modern literature. It focuses on the great works of national literary civilization, the language of writing and the tradition of texts. It is the ideal path for those who aspire to school teaching or intend to start research in the humanities. It meets all the requirements for access to the graduate degree programme in Modern Philology and already includes almost the entire requirements for access to the selection examination for the annual course of initial training and test scheduled at the end of the graduate degree.

This profile makes it possible to fully enhance, within the context of a complete philological-literary training, the specific skills and sectors of excellence in historical research, in which our University has long distinguished itself in the international field. The profile, in addition to ensuring the acquisition of the fundamentals of the historical method and a solid critical capacity, also provides the skills to carry out tasks related to the enhancement of the historical and cultural heritage. It also adequately prepares for the master's degree in Modern Philology (in particular for the Historical profile) and, at the same time, allows the acquisition of most of the requirements for access to the exam for the annual course of initial training and test scheduled at the end of the master's degree.

The critical-publishing profile allows the student to acquire specific skills in the fields of literary criticism, text editing, book disciplines and book and multimedia publishing, grafting it onto a solid humanistic background. Without excluding other employment opportunities, he foreshadows editorial tasks in the world of press and publishing houses. This programme meets all the requirements for access to the graduate degree programme in Modern Philology and includes almost all the requirements for access to the selection examination for the annual programme of initial training and test provided for at the end of the graduate degree.
