Overview

The degree programme in Pedagogical Design and Coordination of Services for Children and Adolescents trains experienced professionals in the field of educational sciences, with a particular focus on the socio-educational sector of childhood and adolescence. The blended teaching organisation of the programme provides for the definition and distribution of teaching hours between face-to-face lessons and distance learning, every other week. Face-to-face classes are concentrated in two intensive days.

Students acquire in-depth knowledge about children, teenagers and their psychological development, the processes of social change that involve them and the legislation concerning their rights. They develop critical skills to evaluate family and social contexts and to develop individualised projects and educational intervention strategies. They are trained on the most current trends in research on the issues of the integrated training system, the coordination of services for children and teenagers and the methodology of educational planning. They acquire specialised skills to intervene effectively in situations of juvenile difficulty and manage places of aggregation and youth training. They learn to collaborate, mediate conflicts, and operate in a network logic. They are able to design and coordinate socio-educational services, working in teams and using the English language, and refine their IT and telematic communication skills.

A further crucial aspect of the degree programme is the laboratories and the curricular internship, considered privileged tools to integrate theory with practice and to allow students to test their skills and abilities in the direct context of the world of work.

A blended course: the Edunext project

The Degree Programme in Pedagogical Design and Coordination of Services for Children and Adolescents provides for 50% of the activities in attendance and 50% remotely, in order to favour students who work or reside off-campus.

In addition, the programme participates in the Edunext project, promoted by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), which involves the collaboration of 35 Italian universities (non-telematic universities) and 5 AFAM (Alta Formazione Artistica e Musicale - Higher Artistic and Musical Education) institutions, supported by 55 partners (regional institutions, cultural bodies, associations and companies) and which aims to promote quality training accessible to all through digital tools. The teaching and technological innovation proposed by the participating Degree Programmes allows a better adaptation to the varied learning pace of the students.
