The Master in Data Science and AI for Business is an international first-level graduate program designed to provide rigorous and comprehensive training in modern statistical methods, computational techniques, and artificial intelligence applied to business contexts. The program adopts a strong problem-driven approach, equipping participants with the analytical and technical skills required to transform data into actionable insights and strategic value.

The overarching objective of the Master is to train the next generation of data-driven professionals for roles such as Data Scientist, Machine Learning Expert, and Business Analytics Consultant, with a strong focus on the effective use of state-of-the-art AI technologies. The program is delivered by a dedicated faculty from the School of Economics and is further strengthened by an extensive network of partner companies and institutions. Industry partners actively contribute to the learning experience through teaching activities, real-world case studies, mentoring initiatives, and internship opportunities, ensuring a strong connection between academic training and professional practice.

What makes this Master truly distinctive is its unique blend of cutting-edge academic content and a strong experiential focus. Alongside rigorous training in contemporary data science and artificial intelligence, students benefit from a structured internship experience that enables them to apply advanced analytical and AI skills in real organizational settings, gaining direct exposure to how data-driven and AI-powered solutions are designed, developed, and deployed in real-world organizations.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Master, students will have developed a solid and integrated skill set in data science, artificial intelligence, and business analytics, enabling them to effectively tackle complex, data-driven challenges in modern organizations.

The program equips participants with advanced competencies in the following key areas:

  • Statistical and analytical foundations for data-driven reasoning, modeling, and inference
  • Data management, programming, and computational methods for scalable and efficient analysis
  • Machine learning and artificial intelligence, including state-of-the-art approaches to generative AI and Large Language Models
  • Data visualization, storytelling, and business intelligence to support effective communication and informed decision-making

Particular emphasis is placed on modern AI methodologies, especially agentic AI, and on the effective use of Python as the core programming language throughout the program. By the end of the Master, graduates will be able to design, develop, and communicate data-driven and AI-powered solutions, transforming complex data into actionable insights that create tangible value for organizations.

Learning by-doing

After the second term, students gain access to a wide range of internship opportunities, typically offered in collaboration with the Master’s extensive network of partner companies and institutionsInternships last four to six months and provide a structured, professional environment in which students can apply and further develop the technical, analytical, and business skills acquired during the program.

Many internships lead directly to employment opportunities, while all of them represent a significant asset for entering or advancing in the job market, reinforcing the strong connection between the Master’s academic training and real-world professional outcomes.

Requirements & Professional Paths

  • Applicants are required to hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines: BusinessComputer Science, Economics, Engineering, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Physical Sciences. Candidates holding degrees in other fields may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to an individual evaluation of their academic background;
  • Alternatively: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the above fields to be awarded by the end of April 2027, and in any case no later than the final graduation session of the academic year 2025-26;
  • Good command of the English language
