The course is organised into 12 semesters and 36 integrated courses, to which ECTS are assigned by the Degree Programme Council in accordance with the provisions of the table of essential training activities.
The distribution of the total time commitment for each CFU between assisted teaching and individual study is determined as follows:

  • 1 CFU lesson: 12.5 hours of lectures + 12.5 hours of individual study
  • 1 CFU theoretical-practical activities: 12.5 hours of assisted teaching + 12.5 hours of individual study or 20 hours of assisted study within the teaching structure + 5 hours of individual study
  • 1 CFU practical-evaluation internship valid for the purpose of qualifying to practice the profession of physician-surgeon (TPV): 20 hours of assisted teaching + 5 hours of individual study
  • 1 CFU activities of the student's choice: 21 hours of lectures + 4 hours of individual study
  • 1 CFU professional activity: 25 hours of frontal teaching
  • 1 CFU final exam: 23 hours of individual study

The total commitment required of the student is at least 5,507 hours, in accordance with the provisions of Directive 2013/55/EU on basic medical education.
The exams, in a number not exceeding 36, are scheduled during the periods of interruption of face-to-face teaching activities. The exam exam, passed positively, entitles the student to acquire the corresponding ECTS.
The structure of the integrated courses in the semesters, the relative ECTS, the core curriculum, the specific training objectives of each integrated course and the type of exams are determined by the Degree Course Council and reported in the Teaching Regulations of the Degree Course and in the Student Guide.
