To enrol in the Economics and Business Management degree programme, you must pass an online admission test - TIEC.

The upcoming dates for online admission test – TIEC - will be 31 March, 1, 2 April 2025 (registration open from 26 February to 20 March 2025).

REGISTRATION FOR THE ADMISSION TEST - TIEC | ENTER THE PORTAL

If you have not yet registered on the portal, register or, if you already have your credentials, log in to the portal.

THE ADMISSION TEST FOR ECONOMICS AT UNIVERSITÀ CATTOLICA - TIEC

The test takes place online, lasts 60 minutes, it is in Italian and consists of 48 questions, divided into 4 areas: mathematics, logic, English and reading comprehension and general culture.
The test with a negative result can be repeated, if places are still available.    

To be eligible for enrolment, you must obtain a minimum score of 60, which is calculated also taking into account your school curriculum and extracurricular certifications (language, computer science and work) and correctly answer at least 6 questions in the area of logic, English and reading comprehension and 4 questions in the area of mathematics

The entrance exams provided for in the admission notice are organized by the University, taking into account the specific needs of candidates with report of civil invalidity and report of assessment of disability in accordance with laws n. 102/2009 and n. 104/1992, and/or certification of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) in accordance with law n. 170/2010, prepared according to the LINEE GUIDA CNUDD 2024, paragraph 8.2 "Diagnosi e certificazione".

Candidates requiring aids or additional time must request them through the online registration procedure on the Enrollment Portal (sections for Candidates with Disabilities and/or with SLD), attaching the relevant certification.

Candidates with disabilities and/or with SLD are entitled to compensatory tools and/or exemptions, and must explicitly request them when registering for the exam:

  • Additional time (up to 30% for candidates with SLD certification and up to 50% for candidates with disabilities);
  • A non-scientific calculator (only for candidates with SLD if specifically indicated in the diagnostic certificate);
  • An "accessible desk" (if the test is in person, only for candidates with motor disabilities);
  • The assignment of a "reader" (person designated by the Evaluation Commission, only for candidates with visual disabilities and for candidates with SLD only in cases of severe reading-specific disorders); • The assignment of a "scribe" (person designated by the Evaluation Commission, only for candidates with disabilities);
  • Enlargement of the test text (if the test is in person) or use of the zoom function in the browser (if the test is online);
  • Audio tracks for comprehension passages (if the test is online and if the test permits).

Additional requests can be made in the editable free field in the appropriate section of the online registration procedure.

The following tools are not permitted under any circumstances: dictionary and/or vocabulary, formula sheet, periodic table of elements, concept map, personal computer (except for online tests), tablet, smartphone, and similar devices.

The provision of compensatory measures will not be guaranteed if the documentation is expired, not compliant with current regulations, not submitted according to the provided guidelines, or beyond the deadlines stated in the admission procedure.

Candidates with disabilities, disabilities, or SLD from EU and non-EU countries residing abroad who wish to take advantage of the above measures must submit the certification confirming the state of disability, disability, or SLD issued by the country of residence, accompanied by a sworn or certified translation by the Italian diplomatic representations, consistent with the original text, in Italian or English. The Commission responsible for reviewing the above certifications will assess whether the documentation issued abroad certifies a condition of disability, disability, or SLD.

The topics required in the admission test-TIEC of the mathematics area are:

  • Basic notions of set theory.
  • Number sets and their representation: natural, rational and real numbers. Inequalities. Percentages.
  • Exponentiation and its properties. Exponentials and logarithms and their properties. Sorting of real numbers.
  • Literal calculus: monomials, polynomials. Operations between monomials and polynomials: algebraic sum, product. Notable products. Prime factorizations. GCD and lcd of monomials and polynomials.
  • Algebraic fractions. Whole and fractional first/second degree equations. Whole and fractional first/second degree inequations. Systems of first/second degree equations and inequations.
  • Basic exponential and logarithmic equations and inequations.
  • Analytical geometry: Cartesian coordinates, distance between two points, midpoint of a segment, equations of line, circumference and parabola, parallel and perpendicular lines, belonging of a point to a curve. Fundamentals of trigonometry.

In addition, the following is also available for practice:

  • Il precorso online di matematica Teorema (Teorema online pre-course): At the first access, explicit consent to the processing of personal data will be requested from all students, including those already registered. Consent, which is required only once, is mandatory to continue using the platform. To use Teorema, all you need is a valid e-mail address and registration at the https://elearning.teorema.cineca.it/login/index.php address: press Create an account, and enter the following code: 123Teorema. At the end of the registration procedure, a registration message will be sent containing instructions on how to access the Teorema pre-course.

FOR ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE 1ST YEAR OF THE PROGRAMME

INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES IN THEIR PENULTIMATE YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL ABROAD

To register for the admission test to one of the undergraduate degree programmes of the Faculty of Economics, you must declare in the Enrolment Portal the marks obtained in the third-to-last and penultimate years of high school in the following subjects: Italian, History, Mathematics and First Foreign Language.

If you are about to obtain or have obtained an Italian high school diploma and you attended the penultimate year of high school abroad, in order to register for the admission test you must declare in the Enrolment Portal the marks converted according to the Italian grading system and upload the report card issued to you by the Italian educational institution.

If you cannot provide the converted report card of the penultimate year, you must repeat the grades obtained in the third-to-last year and upload the transcript of the penultimate year spent abroad along with the report card of the third-to-last year in a single file.

PLEASE NOTE:

If you have spent the 1st term abroad, declare the grades of the final exam expressed out of 10 and upload the report card of the penultimate year issued by the Italian school.

If you have spent the 2nd term abroad, declare the grades of the final exam converted in marks out of 10 by the Italian school.

If you cannot provide the report card with the converted final exam grades, declare and upload the grades obtained in the first term spent in Italy and the transcript of the term spent abroad along with the report card of the 1st term attended in Italy in a single file.

PLEASE NOTE: under no circumstances will translations of foreign transcripts or self-certifications of mark conversion be accepted.

CANDIDATES WITH A FOREIGN QUALIFICATION

If you are a candidate with a foreign diploma or enrolled in a school providing a foreign qualification, please follow the procedures provided by the International Admissions Office.
