Clinical Electives

Your Clinical Electives

The program offers students the opportunity to complete an international curricular internship at healthcare companies and/or hospitals within or outside the EU, independently chosen by the student.

It is designed for current students and recent graduates of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery who wish to gain clinical or research experience abroad. Applications are open year-round.

Key Features:

  • Flexible destinations: Students can choose any destination in Europe or beyond, according to their interests.
  • Flexible timing: There are no fixed dates; students propose their mobility period, in line with the compulsory attendance regulations outlined in the Faculty Guidebook.
  • Study grants: Financial support is available for internships lasting 1–3 months, covering travel and other expenses incurred during the internship
  • Academic recognition: Internships can be recognized with ECTS credits upon submission of documentation proving the activity and approval by the Degree Programme Committee. Students may also earn an additional +0.5 points to their final degree score for two months abroad.

The programme allows students to apply to EU and non-EU partner universities to carry out a curricular internship and/or international research for a period of between two months (minimum) and three months (maximum). 

Key Features:

  • Selection criteria: Based on academic merit and language proficiency, as specified in the call for participation
  • Grants: Selected students receive mobility grants, with the amount varying depending on the duration, destination, and income
  • Academic recognition: Internships can be recognized with ECTS credits upon submission of documentation proving the activity and approval by the Degree Programme Committee. Students may also earn an additional +0.5 points to their final degree score for two months abroad.
