A period of specialization in a specific topic, agreed upon with the student’s academic supervisor, is required. This is typically structured as a minimum three-month internship connected to a scientific or applied project in financial engineering, allowing students to gain hands-on experience and apply advanced quantitative, technical, and strategic skills in a real-world setting.

Internships are available in a variety of organizations within the financial and technology sectors, including: banks, asset management companies, hedge funds, investment firms, fintech or financial software companies, trading companies, risk management firms, energy and commodity companies conducing trading and risk management activities.

These opportunities allow students to gain hands-on experience and apply the advanced technical, quantitative, and strategic skills acquired during the program in real-world financial and technological environments.

Participants will be supported by the master’s staff in each step of the internship project, in particular:

  • Resume Preparation: Participants will receive guidance in preparing a professional CV in line with international standards. Each CV will be included in the Master Program “Book”, a key tool used to promote and present participants’ profiles to potential employers and partner organizations.
  • Individual Interviews: During the program, the Master’s staff will conduct individual interviews to better understand each participant’s professional aspirations, motivations, and career expectations. These meetings will allow students to clarify their goals and receive personalized feedback. Participants will also have opportunities to interact with guest lecturers and professionals from the business and financial sectors.
  • Internship Search Support: Participants will receive active support from the Master’s staff in identifying and applying for suitable internship opportunities. Guidance will include advice on application strategies, networking with partner institutions, and preparation for internship interviews.
  • Round Table Sessions: Dedicated round table sessions will bring together participants, faculty members, and invited professionals from the financial and corporate sectors. These interactive discussions will offer insights into current industry trends, career paths, and professional challenges, while allowing students to engage directly with experienced practitioners and expand their professional network.

Thesis project: Alongside the internship, students, working in small teams, will carry out a thesis project. Both an academic and a professional tutor will provide guidance to ensure that final projects are relevant, rigorous, and valuable from both a theoretical and managerial standpoint.
