(Loving Mystic)

A luminous circular form emerges on the work’s golden surface, created through the interplay of video projection, gold-plated brass, and tempera. The elementary geometry of the circle thus acquires an unstable, pulsating quality, shaped by light and by the duration of the projected image. The title explicitly connects the mystical dimension with that of love: two experiences united by the idea of relationship and of transcending individual boundaries. Cass thus brings the vocabulary of geometric abstraction into dialogue with an exploration of transcendence and spiritual experience.
