The Physiotherapist is located within the National and Regional Healthcare Systems, in private facilities accredited and affiliated with the NHS, university clinics, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities and centres, spas and wellness centres, medical clinics and/or specialist clinics, professional offices and any area where the competence of a physiotherapist is required.
The legislation in force allows the carrying out of freelance professional activities in individual or associated professional firms, sports associations and sports clubs in the various types, service cooperatives, non-governmental organisations, public and private prevention services.
At the level of the National and regional Healthcare System, the need for this figure is expected to increase in relation to priority health problems such as cardiovascular accidents, road and work traumas, respiratory diseases related to environmental pollution and lifestyles, for which the figure of the Physiotherapist is central in the process of functional recovery and improvement of the quality of life.
Professionals with a degree in physiotherapy will be able to attend graduate degree programmes aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills in the health sector, in relation to Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, relating to:
- Healthcare Management
- Education and teaching
- The methodology of scientific research
