Structure of the training offer

The Specialist must acquire adequate theoretical and practical knowledge in the following subject areas/sectors.

  • General psychology, psychobiology and neuropsychology: knowledge of the functional organization of cognitive and emotional-motivational processes in the different ages of life, of their bases in the central nervous system and in the biological systems of the organism, of the genetic or epigenetic factors that determine behavior, of the evaluation and rehabilitation of deficits in cognitive, emotional-motivational and relational processes that are psychogenic or caused by injuries and dysfunctions at different ages of life.
  • Developmental and educational psychology: knowledge of the development of cognitive and emotional-motivational processes, their psycho-biological bases in childhood and adolescence, and their relationships with learning and education; skills in assessment, prevention, rehabilitation and psychotherapy in childhood and development.
  • Life cycle psychology: knowledge of the various stages related to the life cycle (cognitive, emotional-motivational, psychobiological and relational processes), of the typical and atypical developmental trajectories of the stages, of the skills in assessment, prevention, rehabilitation and psychotherapy related to the different stages of the life cycle.
  • Social Psychology of Communities and Organizations: knowledge of the relationships between collective and societal processes and events and individual, group and social psychological processes in the most relevant aspects for the cognitive and emotional-motivational organization of the individual and groups: in general and with reference to the variety of organizational contexts. 
  • Dynamic and clinical psychology: knowledge from a psychodynamic, psychogenetic and clinical point of view of intrapsychic processes and interpersonal relationships relevant for the prevention and treatment of psychic distress and psycho-pathologies, of the main psychotherapeutic approaches, with particular regard to assessment, prevention, psychological rehabilitation and psychotherapy interventions with additional skills in clinical psychophysiology.
  • Psychopathology: knowledge of the main theories and models and of the most important psychopathological phenomena.
  • Psychopharmacology: knowledge of the effects of drugs and substances of abuse on cognitive and emotional-motivational processes and personality, at different ages of life and in the presence of disorders of cognitive, emotional-motivational and relational processes.
  • Psychiatry: knowledge of the cognitive and emotional-motivational aspects and elements of epidemiology, etiopathogenesis and diagnosis of the most common psychiatric diseases; knowledge of the main methods of preventive, rehabilitative and therapeutic intervention of these diseases.
  • Statistics, psychometrics and epidemiology: application of psychometric statistical methodologies to the analysis of behavioural performance, to tests for the evaluation of cognitive and emotional-motivational processes, to interviews and interviews, with the aim of assessing the temporal evolution of possible deficits, also in relation to psychological, rehabilitative or pharmacological treatments; application of epidemiological statistical methodologies at the population level to the analysis of cognitive, emotional-motivational and personality profiles, and their deficits in different ages of life.
  • Applied qualitative research: knowledge of the main methods and techniques of qualitative research (observation, interview, groups) applied to intervention activities in the clinical-health field and their evaluation. 
  • Neurology: knowledge, for the purposes of psychological and neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation and psychotherapy, of elements of epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy of the main diseases of the nervous system that determine deficits in cognitive and motivational processes.
  • Sociology and anthropology: knowledge of the main perspectives for the understanding of change and the analysis of groups, health, development and social security with particular attention to the relationship between legal norms and society and deviant behaviour, the general mechanisms of anthropological processes and the ways in which cultures are configured and diversified according to the understanding of the different identities of populations.
  • Organization and management of services: knowledge of the principles and techniques of business organization and management, also with regard to legal and regulatory aspects, IT techniques, as well as organizational management and health economics.
