Course Programs

For the academic year 2024-2025, the School Council has decided to activate the following courses:

  • Archaeology of the Roman Provinces (L-Ant/07)
  • Early Christian Archaeology (L-Ant/08)
  • Computer Science Applied to Archaeology (L-Ant/10)
  • Medieval coins in the archaeological context (L-Ant/04)
  • Ancient topography (L-Ant/09)
  • Museology (L-Art/04)
  • Theory and Technique of Restoration of Archaeological Heritage (ICAR/19)
  • Economics and Management of Archaeological Cultural Heritage (SECS-P/08)

Postgraduate students will have to formulate the individual study plan on the basis of the courses planned with the relative quantification in hours and credits (to be delivered to the Secretariat of the Specialization Schools in Via Carducci, 28/30 between April and May 2024).

WARNING

With regard to the acquisition of the 30 credits for internships and traineeships, it should be taken into account that:

for conferences, conventions, presentations of volumes, etc., no more than 8 ECTS will be recognized
for study trips organized by the School, no more than 4 ECTS
for excavation activities not more than 17 and not less than 10 ECTS
for individual practical activities (cataloguing finds, preparation for the study trip, drawings and surveys, internship extra moenia) no more than 10 and not less than 6 ECTS

In order to carry out individual practical activities, it will be possible to carry out internships at the "Michelangelo Cagiano de Azevedo" Archaeology Laboratory

Participation in initiatives (conferences, courses, study days, cataloguing of finds, drawings and surveys, extra-moenia internships) not included in this program or not proposed by the School for which it is intended to apply for the recognition of CFU, must be submitted in advance for approval by the School Council, by sending an e-mail with a detailed program attached and, at the end of the activity, proven by a certificate signed by the person in charge.
Any individual excavation programs must be submitted in advance to the preliminary approval of the School Council, approved by the Board itself following the delivery by the students of a concise report, which highlights the degree of understanding and awareness acquired and proven by a certificate signed by the scientific director at the end of the activity.
All requests for approval to be submitted to the Board must be submitted no later than one week prior to the Board meeting, which will be communicated by email.
All certificates relating to practical and/or didactic activities carried out by each student must be delivered in photocopies by the end of each year.

Internship activities outside the city
During the two years, postgraduate students will be able to carry out an internship at an ABAP Superintendence or other public protection body, planned and authorized by the School Council in agreement with the competent authorities.
Those who intend to take advantage of this opportunity are asked to indicate their intentions in order to start the related procedures.
Any individual internship programs must be submitted in advance to the approval of the School Council
