The Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, together with the Faculty of Economics, contributes its teaching, organisational and research resources to the activation of this interfaculty graduate degree programme.

 

Objectives

The graduate degree programme in Management of art, culture and creativity has the following specific educational objectives:

  • acquisition of specialized skills in the field of business management and in particular with reference to companies operating in the cultural and entertainment sector;
  • acquisition of specialized skills in the field of methodologies of economic sciences, for the analysis of territorial systems and for the design of plans and programs, with particular reference to the sectors of culture and entertainment, in the context of territorial economic development;
  • ability to orient themselves in the legal systems of European countries with reference to the cultural and entertainment sectors;
  • ability to propose managerial and institutional innovations aimed at achieving forms of greater economic efficiency for institutions and companies in the cultural heritage and activities sector;
  • ability to propose innovations to the Italian legal system, in particular in the culture and entertainment sector;
  • acquisition of knowledge, skills and methodologies for the analysis and design of activities and services in the field of protection, enhancement, promotion of cultural heritage and entertainment activities;
  • development of analytical skills and participation in decision-making processes concerning the governance of institutions and companies operating in the field of cultural heritage and activities;
  • development of the ability to reconcile economic culture with artistic and humanistic culture, the culture of public institutions with that of businesses;
  • ability to acquire, analyze, re-elaborate and use qualitative and quantitative information and data useful for the analysis of the market and the activities of companies operating in the cultural heritage and activities sector;
  • specialized skills in financial management and fund-raising activities of companies in the cultural heritage and entertainment sector;
  • fluent use - both orally and in writing - of English and a second foreign language of the European Union, in addition to Italian, with mastery of the specific vocabulary of economics, law, art and culture.

The graduate programme in Management of art, culture and creativity aims to provide students with advanced level training in the management of companies operating in the culture and entertainment sector, both national and international. Combining knowledge of the specificity of the cultural and entertainment sector with more general skills related to business management, organization and survey, as well as to the regulatory discipline of the sector, the course aims to train students able to professionally carry out managerial roles within public and private companies in the sector, within related companies, service and consulting companies. For the formation of an international professional profile, able to understand and contribute to the cultural management sector both in Italy and abroad, a profile in English 'Management and Topics in Arts Management' (MaTAM) has also been activated, of which a complete description is provided in the following pages.
