Presentazione del master

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, through the initiative of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery “A. Gemelli”, establishes for the academic year 2026/27 the second-level University Master’s Program in Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care.

The second-level Master’s Program lasts one academic year, for a total of 60 credits, corresponding to 1,500 hours.

The aim of the Master is to provide a highly specialized educational path for the stabilization and treatment of critical conditions requiring intensive support of vital functions in pediatric/neonatal  age.

It is designed to fill an educational gap often present in the training of physicians—particularly pediatricians and anesthesiologists/intensivists—by training experts in emergency management from the neonatal period to adolescence.

The Master is open to those holding a degree in Medicine and Surgery, or a Specialist/Master’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (Classes 46/S and LM-41).

To be admitted, candidates must submit a curriculum vitae describing their clinical and scientific activity.

Preferential admission is given to those holding one of the following degrees:

  • Specialization in Anesthesia, Resuscitation, and Intensive Care
  • Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine

The number of admitted students will range from a minimum of 15 to a maximum of 50

The Master will not be activated if fewer than 8 students enroll.

Simultaneous enrollment in other Degree, Specialization, PhD, Advanced Training, or Master’s Programs (even at other institutions) may be evalued by the organizing committee for clearance.

A minimum attendance of 75% is required to be eligible for graduation.

Graduates may pursue positions in Pediatric Intensive Care Units and High-Dependency Pediatric Units.
