Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, on the initiative of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery "A. Gemelli "establishes, for the academic year 2024/25, the second level University Master in Orthodontics and Gnathology (Theoretical-clinical course).

The University Master is divided into two academic years for a total of 60 credits, equal to 1,500 hours.

The second level University Master in Orthodontics and Theoretical-Clinical Gnathology, aims to lead participants to improve specific skills on the diagnosis and therapy of orthognathic clinical problems by applying their expertise on clinical cases related to the Catholic University outpatient Dental clinic.

Those who have completed the planned training course and passed the relative assessment tests with a mark out of thirty will be awarded a second level University Master's degree in Orthodontics and Gnathology (theoretical-clinical course).

The Master is aimed at those who are in possession of:

  • master's or specialist degree in Dentistry and dental prostheses (Italian University class LM-46 or class 52 / S) or degree from the old system in Dentistry and dental prostheses. The qualification to practice as a dentist is also required, which must be possessed at the time of enrollment;
  • degree from the old system in Medicine and Surgery with registration in the Register of Dentists or with the annotation for Dentistry.

In the case of degree awarded abroad  the qualification with the grade obtained must be accompanied by the Statement of Comparability by the Cimea Service

The Master’s Degree obtained must be a level 7 degree in the European Qualification Framework.Please note that the cimea service will be closed from the 29th of July 2023 to the 3rd of September 2023. The service will re-start on the 4th of September 2023. Please note that the days of closure will not be counted as part of the time guaranteed for release of statements. 

The number of admitted students to the Master is set at a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15.

To be admitted to the University Master, candidates must pass a test consisting in the evaluation of the studiorum curriculum and a multiple choice test, which can also be carried out on computer modules and on the basis of which a ranking will be drawn up.

The calendar includes teaching divided into theoretical and practical preparatory modules on a quarterly basis and 1/2 consecutive days per month of guided clinical activity.
