The Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, on the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery advice, activate, academic year 2024/25, the III edition of the University Second Level Master's Course in Ocular Oncology.
The Master's course is organized with the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS according to existing agreements.
The second-level university master's degree course lasts for one academic year for a total of 60 credits, or 1,500 hours.

The Postgraduate Master's Program in Ocular Oncology aims to provide in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of ocular oncological diseases. Specifically, participants will learn the diagnostic aspects, therapeutic indications and medical/surgical treatment modalities of major ocular, periocular and orbital oncologic diseases. The acquisition of the Master's degree in Ocular Oncology will provide an element of high specialization, useful within the ophthalmology profession in the field of ocular oncology.

The Master's program is aimed at:

·       Graduates in Medicine and Surgery (class LM-41 or L 46/S) ), including those in accordance with the ducational systems prior to the enactment of MD 509/1999

·       Master's degree in Ophthalmology

n.b. Declaration of Abroad Titles Values ( CIMEA) is needed

The number of those admitted is set at 7 units (min 4/max 7) .
If the number of applicants is more than 7, a selection will be made in the manner specified in these regulations:

MASTER Planning
The schedule will be structured in theoretical theacing, attendance at the services of: ocular oncology, ocular ultrasound, medical retina and ophthalmoplasty (outpatient and operating rooms) of the Institute of Ophthalmology of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
Theacings will be held in the teaching room of the Institute of Ophthalmology starting in February 2025 and ending in Genuary 2026.
Mandatory attendance of 75% of scheduled teachings and practical activity is required.  

The postgraduate Master of Science in Ocular Oncology course includes a final evaluation test. Those who will have completed the planned training and successfully cleared the final examination (evaluation in thirtieths) will be awarded the title of Second Level University Master's Degree in Ocular Oncology 

Knowledge acquisition to be exploited in the professional field:

-  Diagnostic workup of benign and malignant ocular, periocular and orbital pathologies

-  Therapeutic workup of benign and malignant ocular, periocular and orbital pathologies

-  Organization and coordination of an Ocular Oncology Center
