Course Outline

The course combines the study of linguistic sciences with the educational and research experiences and with the teaching resources of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, exploiting mutual tools and skills for a better understanding of the complex reality of international relations, relations between states, international and supranational bodies and non-state actors in both a synchronic and diachronic perspective.

Credits

To obtain the three-year degree, 180 university credits (CFU) are required, which are acquired to the extent of about 60 each year with evaluation tests both for the courses and for other supplementary teaching forms. Each exam is awarded a certain number of credits, the same for all students, and a grade (expressed in thirtieths) that varies according to the level of preparation. The final exam is evaluated in one hundred and tenths. The degree in Linguistic Sciences for International Relations does not include curricula.

The languages offered in the degree programme are:

  • Arabic (60 places are reserved for this language)
  • Chinese (80 places are reserved for this language)
  • French
  • English
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • German

The study plan includes: two three-year cycles of languages, a cycle of two/three exams of linguistic sciences and an organic cycle of six/nine specific exams, responding to the requests for linguistic/professional service widespread in society and intended to constitute a specific professionalism.
