Multidisciplinary training for a sustainable company

Man, environment and economy are the key words of a course that recovers and integrates the social, environmental and economic dimensions into the educational experience of each student, proposing a distinctive formula for the development of the skills necessary to interpret and implement the paradigm of sustainability. In this perspective, the study plan of each of the three years combines courses in the economic, business, quantitative and legal areas with new courses related to environmental sciences (chemistry, biology) and human sciences (pedagogy, history, philosophy).

Distinctive elements of the new degree programme in Economics and Management for Sustainability

A course that recovers and integrates the economic, social and environmental dimensions into the student's educational experience, proposing a distinctive formula for the development of the skills necessary to interpret and implement the paradigm of sustainability.

An innovative degree course in Economics and Management of an inter-disciplinary type, which connects different fields of knowledge and is located beyond the perimeter of the areas of expertise present in traditional degrees in management (business, economic, legal, quantitative areas) also providing for the activation of specific courses on environmental and social issues, developed with the contribution of the Faculties of Agricultural Sciences, Food and Environment; Education Sciences and with partners from the business world.

A course that embraces the concept that "everything is connected", developed in coherence with project initiatives already in place at national level (e.g. ASVIS - Alliance for Sustainable Development) and international level (e.g. Agenda 2030, UN Sustainable Development Goals, UN Partnership for Sustainability Education, EU Action Plan for Sustainable Finance), with the aim of ensuring a constant alignment of the student's skills with respect to the contents and reflections relevant on the global scene.

In addition, very relevant are:

  • the course's links with the RES.m HUB research centre of Università Cattolica (Piacenza campus), which carries out scientific activities and promotes the integration of social and environmental sustainability into corporate strategy and performance;
  • relations with ALTIS Graduate School of Sustainable Management, the Graduate School of Università Cattolica dedicated to the promotion of sustainability in the management of companies and organizations.
