During the first year, preparatory disciplines and biomedical sciences are addressed to consolidate basic knowledge, including basic English, computer science and statistics. The basics of clinical biochemical diagnostic methodologies and microbiology will also be introduced. Finally, the acquisition of hygiene and radiation protection elements is envisaged.
In the second year, the specific knowledge of microbiological, haematological and pathological anatomy methodologies will be deepened. Knowledge in the field of general and special pathology and pathophysiology and oncology will also be acquired for the knowledge of the scientific bases of functional alterations with reference, for each discipline, to laboratory diagnostic methodologies. There will be an Advanced English course.
During the third year, advanced methodologies for genetic and biotechnological diagnostics in the field of clinical molecular biology will be addressed. For the achievement of full professional competence, the programme concludes with the acquisition of elements of legislation, hygiene and health organization, quality assessment and review.
