The right emphasis will be assigned to the edition of the texts, as well as to the methodologically equipped analysis and critically aware and bibliographically informed interpretation of the works; the historical dimension of the phenomena studied, taking into account the epochal changes and turning points, but also the authoritativeness of traditional authors, the continuity of tradition and intertextual practice, as well as the treatment of theoretical-epistemological issues and interdisciplinary aspects; to the maturation of an overall vision of human facts and signs over time; the methodology of the research, the places, the sources and the tools, ancient and modern, available; skills in the analysis and interpretation of artistic contexts, entertainment and media communication and promotion, particularly in their intermedial dimensions and in their relationship with literature; practical experimentation, in the field, of operational techniques, through exercises, laboratories and internships; finally, the performance of original research, in progress, within specific teaching activities, and of course to crown the cycle of studies, with the degree dissertation.

The exams will take the form of interviews or written papers or productions or practical exercises. The verification of learning can be measured, in addition to the usual exams, also through the administration of ongoing tests and the evaluation of what has been produced or reworked in the different teaching contexts (exercises, drafting of studies or projects, seminars, etc.). The drafting of the final dissertation will then be a privileged opportunity to verify the skills acquired both in terms of disciplinary content and the methods and tools used. The normal duration of the graduate degree programme is two years. To obtain the graduate degree in Modern Philology, the student must have acquired at least 120 university credits. Each subject is assigned a certain number of credits (CFU), the same for all students and for each exam taken a grade (expressed in thirtieths) that varies according to the level of preparation. The teaching activities conclude with an oral or written test, the outcome of which is usually expressed in thirtieths. After passing the final examination, the student obtains the title of master's degree in Modern Philology.
