Centenary celebrations

With the resumption of in-person activities, events and initiatives are back
to celebrate "A century of history ahead of us"
Conferences, shows, conventions, inaugurations of new spaces, new publications

The first initiative is a series of conferences entitled:

A century of the future The university between generations

At the heart of the celebrations of its first century of life, Università Cattolica has placed the need to "write together the words of the future". It is a question of promoting and initiating a reflection on the current change of epoch, to which Pope Francis insistently reminds us, in the light not only of new scientific and technological discoveries, but also of the contradictions and expectations in the field of equality, justice, the environment and an economy on a human scale. And it is also a matter of guiding and anticipating the transformations that await tomorrow's society, bearing witness and building projects that are rooted in a humanistic and Christian vision of existence and relationships.
With this aim in mind, we have planned a series of meetings with renowned scholars, so that they can help us to focus on the new contours of that peculiar relationship between generations that is the educational challenge. The basic question we asked them is: how can we share with today's young people the value of knowledge oriented towards the search for truth and goodness, which critically takes into account radical technological transformations and new global challenges?
We have also chosen to merge two strands of reflection into a unified discourse: one more scientific and disciplinary, oriented towards the description and interpretation of the "external world", the other consisting of theological studies, with the task of rediscovering our religious roots as a key to interpreting present and future challenges: an unprecedented solution that testifies to our holistic and humanistic vision of knowledge.
In particular, theological reflection is addressed to the university community, students, professors, administrative staff and priests, as an opportunity for deepening and common discussion of our identity as a Catholic university.
