/ Overview

The undergraduate programme in Scienze linguistiche per le relazioni internazionali (Linguistic Sciences for International Relations) offers an interdisciplinary training that integrates linguistic, cultural and political-institutional skills. The programme stems from the collaboration between the Faculty of Linguistic Sciences and Foreign Literatures and the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences with the aim of providing comprehensive training on the dynamics of communication and global relations.

The training offer is divided into two curricula: Linguistic Mediation and International Policies, focused on the analysis of global processes and political-institutional contexts, and Languages and Communication for International Organisations, oriented towards linguistic and communicative strategies in relations between institutions, NGOs and companies.

A central element is the integration between mastery of languages and understanding of contemporary contexts, developed through courses in the historical, legal, economic-political and communicative areas. This approach allows us to critically read the phenomena of globalisation and the relationships between institutional and organizational actors.

The cultural dimension represents a further axis of the path: languages are not just technical tools, but keys to understanding contexts, values and intercultural dynamics.

Teaching alternates theoretical lessons, laboratories and application activities, with a progressive approach oriented towards the development of operational and transversal skills. The course trains figures capable of using language skills to analyse, interpret and manage communicative and relational processes in complex contexts.

In a context characterised by the spread of artificial intelligence and language technologies, the programme enhances the role of linguistic, cultural and critical competence, providing the tools to use these technologies in a conscious way and support the processes of communication and relationship between different actors.
