/ Overview

Communication for Business, Media and Culture is the international English-taught curriculum of the Graduate Degree Programme in Comunicazione per l'impresa, i media e le organizzazioni complesse.

The programme prepares professionals to design, manage and coordinate complex communication processes for businesses, media organisations, cultural institutions, public and private organisations, communication agencies and the creative industries.

The programme brings together expertise from communication studies, marketing, management, media studies and cultural studies, providing an interdisciplinary education designed to meet the needs of global communication markets.

Teaching combines theoretical learning with practical experience through design workshops, content production labs, project work, professional simulations and collaborations with companies, agencies and cultural organisations.

A distinctive feature of the programme is its accreditation by the International Advertising Association (IAA), which recognises its quality and professional relevance in the fields of communication, marketing and advertising.

Studying in Milan is a major advantage. As Italy’s capital of communication, media, fashion, design and the creative industries, Milan gives students direct access to global companies, international agencies, cultural institutions and major events.

Admission test

Applicants must register for the admission test and pay a €60 test registration fee.

The test is held online in Italian for the Italian-taught programme and in English for the Communication for Business, Media and Culture programme.

Applicants wishing to apply for both must take a single test in English. Their score will be valid for both admission rankings.

The test lasts 60 minutes and consists of 30 multiple-choice questions covering three areas:

  • Marketing (33%)

  • Communication and corporate communication (33%)

  • Media formats and languages (33%)

The scoring system is as follows:

  • +0.20 points for each correct answer

  • −0.10 points for each incorrect or unanswered question

Applicants can find instructions for taking the online test and a reading list of recommended texts in the Notices section of the programme page.

A few days before the test, applicants will receive an email with their login details for the test platform. A demo test is also available and strongly recommended to help applicants familiarise themselves with the procedure and avoid technical issues during the test.

Applicants who do not take the test will be excluded from the admission rankings.

English Test

Admission to certain degree programmes, or the inclusion of courses/modules taught in English in your study plan, requires an adequate level of English language proficiency.

You can demonstrate your proficiency by submitting one of the recognised language certificates listed in the relevant admission procedures or by taking the English Test organised by the Language Centre of Università Cattolica.

The English Test is held online and lasts up to 60 minutes. It consists of four sections: Reading, Grammar, Vocabulary and Listening. The test assesses reading and listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary.

To take the test, you must register via the Enrolment Portal by the relevant deadline. Before the test, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the platform and take the test.

Applicants who hold one of the recognised language certificates listed in the admission procedures can use it to demonstrate the level of English required for their chosen programme.

If you do not have a valid language certificate, you can take the English Test. Your result is not limited to the programme you selected when registering for the test: it can also be used to meet the English language requirement for any programme requiring the same or a lower level of proficiency.

If you miss the test or do not achieve the required level, you can register for a later session in accordance with the University's procedures.
