Show SOUND GEOMETRIES
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Brescia presents the exhibition SOUND GEOMETRIES by Giorgio Presti and Corrado Saija.
Hosted within the university, it is curated by the second-year students of the DAMS for the Arts, of the workshop course L'evento d'arte (Miriam Almici, Alessia Chiodi, Giulia Contu, Cecilia Franzoni, Margherita Laudini, Agnese Quaresmini, Sara Ravelli, Camilla Saleri, Barbara Rota, Maria Adele Zanelli) held by Prof. Daniele Perra.
- Location: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Brescia, via Trieste 17
- Duration: 29 May - 18 June 2025
- Open: Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm
- Opening: 29 May 2025 at 5 pm
The exhibition presents two installations in which sound is the protagonist and takes on a "consistency" that the artists define: "a manifestation of the reality of something that usually escapes".
The first work in the exhibition is Parallel, an interactive sound sculpture from 2015, located in the entrance hall of the University.
In the internal courtyard, in front of the library, Sonic Garden is set up, an immersive, environmental and site-specific sound installation, created with the students of the first year of DAMS during the workshop held by the artists and coordinated by Prof. Mariacristina Maccarinelli, in the context of the Laboratory of Ideas and Art Projects.
Giorgio Presti and Corrado Saija form an artistic partnership that is based on the interconnection between several languages. In their works, art and science are ways of decoding the world that open up new emotional and perceptive perspectives, towards the search for the beautiful and the unexpected. The active participation of the visitor is, almost always, a founding element of their artistic practice.
The exhibition is free admission.
