Marco Allena

The mission of the Faculty of Economics and Law is to offer education that creates value, support activities aimed at the advancement of students and society, and design research with a local and international scope. It is rooted in the Piacenza-Cremona area but open to the world.

The Faculty of Economics and Law is placed within two university campuses located in an area rich in culture and beauty, food and wine and musical traditions. The campuses are characterised by large green spaces, the presence of residential areas for students, and numerous initiatives for leisure and socialising. The geographical origins and educational paths of the students of the Faculty of Economics and Law are very diverse. This heterogeneity, in addition to representing a great cultural richness, is a strong stimulus to comparison and exchange of experiences.

The values that inspire university life on the campuses are those of seriousness and commitment to study, merit, teamwork, sharing, solidarity, confrontation and passion for continuous self-improvement.

In short, an environment where it is possible to respond to one's deepest needs, at a crucial moment in people's lives, merging the quality of study and the quality of interpersonal relationships.
The Faculty offers distinct and autonomous degree programmes in Economics and Law, but also offers some highly interdisciplinary programmes. Students can choose their degree programme and customize their study plan with the aim of developing general and basic skills, combining them with those that over time they will find most responsive to their needs, but always within a wide choice strongly demanded by the labor market.
The economics degree programmes and profile aim to develop managerial and professional skills in the areas of administration, strategy, marketing and sales management, finance, human resources management and sustainability.

The degree programmes and profiles in Law are structured in such a way as to offer qualified training for access to the legal professions and for entry into the world of business, institutions, international organisations and associations.

There are two important characteristics of the faculty programmes: internationalisation and internship experience.

All programmes offer the possibility to develop study and internship experiences abroad with various expriences: Exchange, Summer Program or Focused Programme Abroad, Exchange, ISEP network, Study Abroad, Double Degree at graduate and undergraduate level, International Thesis Scholarship, Internship Abroad.

The contents of the teachings and courses of the Faculty of Economics and Law are up-to-date and consistent with current issues in professional and managerial contexts, developed through intense scientific research carried out by the Department of Economic and Social Sciences and the Department of Legal Sciences, as well as by important applied research centers specialised in various thematic areas: the Research Centre Banking Research School (BANKS), the Research Centre for Change in Public Administration (CECAP), the Research Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (CERSI), the Centre for Studies in Economic and Monetary Policy (CESPEM), the Laboratory for Local Economies (LEL), the Research Centre for Retailing and Trade Marketing (REM Lab) and the Research Centre active in the field of Responsibility, Ethics and Sustainability in Management (RES.m HUB)
The activity of the Research Centres and Departments, in addition to representing an important resource for improving the quality, updating and involvement of managers and professionals in the field of teaching activities, contributes to promoting the employment opportunities of graduates even during their studies.

I believe that the contemporary university, while it has the duty to contribute to the advancement of the sciences and to follow the methodology required by each of them, must never put in second place what is required for the recognition of its primacy, namely man, the human person, the world of spirituality.

Father Agostino Gemelli, Founder of Università Cattolica
