TIEC admission test
The test is conducted online in Italian and lasts for 60 minutes.
The test can be retaken if unsuccessful, subject to availability of remaining places.
The test consists of 48 questions divided into 4 areas - mathematics, logic, English and comprehension.
To be eligible for enrolment, a minimum score of 60 is required. This score considers both academic history and extracurricular certifications (such as language, computer, and work-related). Additionally, candidates must correctly answer at least 6 questions in the logic, English, and reading comprehension sections, and 4 questions in the mathematics section.

The topics covered in the admission test (TIEC) for the mathematics area include:
- Elementary notions of set theory
- Numeric sets and their representation: natural, rational, real numbers, inequalities. Percentages.
- Powers and their properties. Exponentials and logarithms and their properties. Ordering of real numbers. • Literal calculation: monomials, polynomials. Operations between monomials and polynomials: algebraic sum, product.
- Notable products. Prime factorization. GCD and LCM of monomials and polynomials
- Algebraic fractions. Equations of first and second degree whole and fractional. Inequalities of first and second degree whole and fractional. Systems of equations and inequalities of first and second degree
- Exponential and logarithmic equations and inequalities based
- Analytical geometry: Cartesian coordinates, distance between two points, midpoint of a segment, equations of lines, circumference and parabola, parallel and perpendicular lines, belonging of a point to a curve. Trigonometry basics.

- The online “Teorema” maths pre-course. We recommend you focus mainly on the "Theorema" modules which will be tested. To use “Teorema” all you need is a valid e-mail address to register at https://elearning.teorema.cineca.it/login/index.php. Just enter the following code in capital letters: 123Teorema. Having successfully completed the two-step registration procedure (the registration request and its confirmation) you will receive a confirmation message containing the instructions for access to the “Teorema” pre-course.
