Opening of the exhibitionMusical Plots: Generative Intersections between StringArt and Music
Mompiano Campus (10-28 March 2025)
Gugliemo Fadabini, a student of the LT in mathematics specialising in physics, has built a robot that reproduces images by crossing kilometers of wire, according to the StringArt technique. This exhibition presents a dozen works with music as their common thread: the works represent authors and recall pieces. Through a QR-code it is possible to listen to the songs.
Fr. Mauro Cinquetti, pastoral assistant of the see, will highlight the reference to some theological meanings (the crossing of the thread generates the forms and depths and symbolically recalls the generativity of the Cross), to some aspects of the philosophy of mind (emergentism) and psychology (Gestalt theory).
Prof. Silvia Maria Carla Pagani, Professor of Geometry, will illustrate the hidden links with the world of mathematics (Radon transform, projections, image reconstruction, inverse problems).
University Group Exhibition Organized by the Pastoral Centre of Milan
From 13 March to 4 April 2025
Esse potest. (Im)possible presences
The Pastoral Centre and the Department of History, Archaeology and Art History of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan announce for 2025 the new exhibition Esse Potest - (Im)possible presences, an art exhibition that reflects on the concept of seemingly impossible presences and the coexistence of opposites.
Born in 2005, the Itineraries of Art and Spirituality project every year identifies themes that encourage new reflections on the reality that surrounds us, to be investigated through the eye of contemporary art.
Two works by Flavia Spasari will be presented at the headquarters in Via Trieste in Brescia, a young artist who "works on the traditional dichotomy between artificial and natural, investigating the boundary where it is crossed, the place where the characteristics of the two once distinct classifications coexist".
