/ Overview

The three-year degree programme in Infermieristica at the Piccola Casa della Divina Provvidenza - Cottolengo Institute in Turin, trains health professionals able to integrate clinical, care, relational and educational skills, placing the person and his or her health needs at the center.

The programme prepares nurses capable of operating in different health and social care contexts, through training that combines biomedical, hygienic-preventive and humanistic disciplines. The aim is to develop a complete preparation oriented towards the care of the person as a whole, with attention to both the technical-scientific aspects and the human and relational dimension of assistance.

The training is based on the integration of theoretical knowledge, practical activities and professional clinical internship. Students progressively acquire care skills, decision-making skills, clinical reasoning and professional responsibility, developing an approach based on scientific evidence and oriented towards the quality of care.

A distinctive element of the programme is the training context represented by the Cottolengo, a reality historically committed to assisting people in fragile conditions. This environment allows students to develop a particular attention to the ethical, social and human dimension of the nursing profession, enhancing the centrality of the assisted person and the care relationship.

The entire course accompanies students towards a progressive acquisition of professional identity, encouraging the development of technical, organisational, educational and relational skills essential to face the challenges of contemporary healthcare.

The course is delivered in Italian and has 52 places available.

The admission test consists of a written distance test (home-based) to be completed in 60 minutes. There are 60 multiple-choice questions: 20 on logical reasoning, 30 on scientific culture (10 on chemistry, 10 on biology, 5 on physics and 5 on mathematics), 5 on general culture and 5 on ethical-religious culture. The maximum score is 60 points (1 point for correct answer, -0.25 for wrong answer, 0 for no answer given); To be admitted, it is necessary to obtain at least 5 points out of 60 and a useful position in the ranking.

To find out about the admission requirements, test calendar, evaluation criteria, rankings and required documentation, please consult the call for admission to the degree courses in the Health Professions published by Università Cattolica.

Rankings and notices

From 18 May until 11:59 p.m. on 1 September 2026 , it is possible to register for the admission test by paying the participation fee ( €130.00). The payment - to be made by 1 September 2026 - constitutes the completion of the registration without which it is not possible to take the exam.

The admission tests are held remotely ( home-based mode) on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September 2026 at 2:30 pm.

When registering for the test, each candidate selects the session they wish to participate in, subject to availability of places.

When enrolling, it is possible to indicate up to 2 undergraduate degree programmes among those on offer of the Faculty of Medicine for the academic year 2026/27 (art. 1 of the call, table below) specifying the order of preference (first choice and, if applicable, second choice) with the exception of the courses active at the Claudiana teaching centre in Bolzano, for which it is necessary to consult the https://www.claudiana.bz.it/it website.

The chosen degree programmes and the order of preference can be changed by 1 September 2026 by using the "modify competition registration" function of your enrolment profile.

Preferences and the order of preference are binding in the preparation of the merit rankings, therefore a careful reading of art. 10 of the competition notice.

The final rankings of each degree programme will be drawn up taking into consideration as a matter of priority:

1) the choices and the order of preference expressed by each candidate (first and second choice);

2) the score obtained.

Therefore, each ranking will be composed first of all of the candidates who have indicated the degree course as "first choice" ordered on the basis of merit, and then of those who have indicated the course as "second choice" in turn ordered on the basis of merit.

The following criteria will be observed in the allocation of places:

  • if the candidate is admitted to the course indicated as the first choice (priority 1), the second choice, if expressed, is automatically cancelled (and eliminated from the corresponding ranking);
  • if the candidate is admitted to the programme-campus indicated as second choice (priority 2), the first choice remains valid and the candidate retains his or her place in the ranking list for possible scrolling (even if he/she enrols in the degree programme indicated as second choice);
  • if the candidate is NOT admitted to the first choice course nor, if expressed, to the second choice one, he or she is placed in the ranking list for both of which he or she may be asked to enrol by subsequent scrolling.

In any case , the order of preference is preserved

/ Internships and careers

Internships and career opportunities

The Faculty offers several internship and apprenticeship opportunities, allowing students to apply the skills acquired in concrete work contexts.

Internships and vocational training

The professional internship is one of the central elements of the training course and accompanies the student throughout the three-year period.

Internship activities allow students to develop care, relational and organisational skills in real contexts, encouraging a progressive assumption of autonomy and professional responsibility.

Through direct confrontation with the people assisted and with health professionals, students develop clinical reasoning, critical thinking and the ability to operate effectively in different care contexts.

The path is supported by dedicated clinical and educational tutors, who accompany the student in their professional growth and in the consolidation of the skills required by the nursing profession.

The Career Service supports students and graduates as they prepare to enter the job market, providing career guidance and resources to help them navigate different professional and organisational contexts. It supports the development of transversal skills, creates opportunities to meet employers and helps students develop an informed and coherent career path.

Every year, more than 20,000 students take part in events organised with over 100 partner companies, and more than 9,500 undertake an internship with support from the Career Service and internship tutors.
