/ Admission
The admission process
To be admitted to the undergraduate degree programme in Tecniche di radiologia medica, per immagini e radioterapia, it is necessary to participate in the admission competition for Health Professions programmes and meet the requirements indicated in the call for applications for the relevant academic year.
Registration for the test is done online within the deadlines set by the University, with payment of the participation fee. During the procedure, it is possible to indicate up to two degree programmes in the Faculty of Medicine and surgery, specifying their order of preference. The rankings are drawn up on the basis of the preferences expressed by the candidates and the score obtained in the admission test.
The test, delivered online, consists of 60 multiple-choice questions on logical reasoning, scientific culture (biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics), general culture and ethical-religious culture. The test lasts 60 minutes, plus 8 minutes dedicated to reserve questions.
To prepare for the exam, candidates can also use the online simulator made available free of charge by the University after completing their registration for the competition.
To find out about the requirements, how to participate, deadlines and contents of the test, it is necessary to consult the admission notice published annually by the University.
Rankings and notices
From 18 May until 11:59 p.m. on 1 September 2026 , it is possible to register for the admission test by paying the participation fee ( €130.00). The payment - to be made by 1 September 2026 - constitutes the completion of the registration without which it is not possible to take the exam.
The admission tests are held remotely ( home-based mode) on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September 2026 at 2:30 pm.
When registering for the test, each candidate selects the session they wish to participate in, subject to availability of places.
When enrolling, it is possible to indicate up to 2 undergraduate degree programmes among those on offer of the Faculty of Medicine for the academic year 2026/27 (art. 1 of the call, table below) specifying the order of preference (first choice and, if applicable, second choice) with the exception of the courses active at the Claudiana teaching centre in Bolzano, for which it is necessary to consult the https://www.claudiana.bz.it/it website.
The chosen degree programmes and the order of preference can be changed by 1 September 2026 by using the "modify competition registration" function of your enrolment profile.
Preferences and the order of preference are binding in the preparation of the merit rankings, therefore a careful reading of art. 10 of the competition notice.
The final rankings of each degree programme will be drawn up taking into consideration as a matter of priority:
1) the choices and the order of preference expressed by each candidate (first and second choice);
2) the score obtained.
Therefore, each ranking will be composed first of all of the candidates who have indicated the degree course as "first choice" ordered on the basis of merit, and then of those who have indicated the course as "second choice" in turn ordered on the basis of merit.
The following criteria will be observed in the allocation of places:
- if the candidate is admitted to the course indicated as the first choice (priority 1), the second choice, if expressed, is automatically cancelled (and eliminated from the corresponding ranking);
- if the candidate is admitted to the programme-campus indicated as second choice (priority 2), the first choice remains valid and the candidate retains his or her place in the ranking list for possible scrolling (even if he/she enrols in the degree programme indicated as second choice);
- if the candidate is NOT admitted to the first choice course nor, if expressed, to the second choice one, he or she is placed in the ranking list for both of which he or she may be asked to enrol by subsequent scrolling.
In any case , the order of preference is preserved
How the admission test takes place
The exam is delivered REMOTELY (via online web testing platform with remote control system).
It is essential to have:
- A PC (Windows 8 operating system, or later, or LINUX) or MAC (MAC-OS 10.14 or later) equipped with a webcam and microphone;
- GOOGLE CHROME browser (min. version 81.0) to be used as the only browser provided;
- Internet connectivity with minimum upload and download speed of 1.5 Mbps;
- A smartphone or tablet (Android min 4.1 – IOs min v.8) equipped with a webcam. The use of wifi is also recommended, during the procedure you will be asked to download an APP on your smartphone/tablet (34MB) from Google Play or AppStore (depending on whether you use a smartphone with Android or IoS operating system).
The tablet can ONLY be used as a replacement for the Smartphone, not the PC/Mac
The test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions (max 60 points) distributed as follows:
- 20 logical reasoning questions;
- 30 questions on scientific culture: 10 on chemistry, 10 on biology, 5 on physics and 5 on mathematics (with elements of logic);
- 5 general culture questions;
- 5 questions of ethical-religious culture.
At the end of the exam, each candidate must answer further 8 questions in 8 minutes (so-called "reserve questions"), one for each subject, automatically assigned by the platform.
- The "reserve" questions do not contribute to the determination of the final score;
- they will be used only in the event that an anomaly emerges in one or more questions of the test that leads to their cancellation, replacing only the one relating to the same subject.
The test lasts 60 minutes
- By paying the test participation fee, the candidate can access the online simulation platform made available by the University free of charge and unlimitedly :
- Access the registration profile;
- Under the heading "List of competitions in which you are registered" click on the link: "Admission to the degree programme in Cosmetic Science and Technology and to the Degree Courses in Health Professions a.y. 2026/2027";

Useful information
Practical information to help you enrol and get started at Università Cattolica.
Additional Educational Obligations (OFA)
Admitted students who have not correctly answered at least 20% of the questions in the subjects indicated in the call for applications are assigned Additional Training Obligations (OFA), to be fulfilled within the first year.
To make up for initial deficiencies, it is necessary to attend specific intensive and remedial activities, even remotely, and pass a final multiple-choice exam. Failure to fulfill the OFAs prevents students from taking the exams scheduled for the second year.
Applicants with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) can access learning aids and adjustments to study and assessment arrangements. Full details are available in the University's Services for Inclusion section.
Transfers, programme changes and second degrees
Applicants wishing to transfer from another university, start a second degree or resume their university studies must meet the entry requirements.
Admission test preparation courses
Prepare for the entrance tests of the "A. Gemelli" Faculty of Medicine and Surgery with online courses in Italian, designed to accompany you towards the test with dedicated teaching support and virtual classes with a reduced number of participants.

The Faculty offers several internship and apprenticeship opportunities, allowing students to apply the skills acquired in concrete work contexts.
Internships and vocational training
The practical experience accompanies students throughout the entire training course, representing an essential moment to consolidate the skills acquired during the lessons and prepare for professional activity.
From the first year, the activities are carried out under the supervision of clinical and educational tutors, coordinated by the Director of Professional Teaching and Internship Activities.
Over the three-year period, students work in the main fields of radiodiagnostics, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and health physics, dealing with real clinical contexts and progressively developing operational autonomy, decision-making skills and professional responsibility.
At the end of each year there is an internship exam that verifies the level of preparation achieved through the evaluation of the activities carried out, the documents produced and a practical test based on the simulation of technical-assistance situations.
The Career Service supports students and graduates as they prepare to enter the job market, providing career guidance and resources to help them navigate different professional and organisational contexts. It supports the development of transversal skills, creates opportunities to meet employers and helps students develop an informed and coherent career path.
Every year, more than 20,000 students take part in events organised with over 100 partner companies, and more than 9,500 undertake an internship with support from the Career Service and internship tutors.
