Opportunities

For students enrolling in the first year in the 2026/2027 academic year, exemptions from the payment of tuition instalments subsequent to the first one are available, up to a maximum amount of €5,000. In order to participate in the competition, applicants are required to submit the following documentation by 4 December 2026 to the e-mail address: concorso.matricole-smfn@unicatt.it:

  • application form for participation in the competition;
  • personal curriculum vitae;
  • letter of recommendation;
  • self-certification including the study plan, indicating the examinations taken together with the relevant scientific-disciplinary sectors and corresponding university credits (CFU).

The graduate degree programme in Mathematics aims to train graduates who are able to face, rationalise and solve complex problems thanks to their knowledge, and are therefore fully able to independently enhance their skills, also at an international level.

For this reason, graduates in Mathematics must:

  • have a solid cultural background in the area of mathematics and the methods of the discipline;
  • possess advanced computational and computer skills;
  • have specialised mathematical knowledge, in the basic areas or in the direction of application to other technical-scientific fields;
  • be able to analyze and solve problems from complex mathematical modeling, in particular in the field of economic-business aspects;
  • have specific skills for communicating Mathematics problems and methods;
  • be able to use the English language fluently in written and oral form, also with reference to disciplinary terminologies;
  • have relational and decision-making skills and be able to work with wide autonomy, also assuming scientific and organisational responsibilities.

For this reason, the training offer includes: 

  1. a curriculum in Mathematics, with courses aimed at preparing graduates for both teaching and research in all fields of Mathematics, and characterized by a good freedom of educational choice;
  2. a curriculum in Mathematics for Economic, Financial and Business Applications, where the student will find courses more focused on mathematical modelling in business and economic realities, acquiring tools that can be immediately used in the world of work and applications.
