Entropic regularizations of the problems of Optimal Transport

Brescia

Abstract:
The Calculus of Variations allows not only to study variational problems defined on spaces of functions, but also on spaces of distributions. In particular, in this seminar, we will talk about some variational problems on measurement spaces: the so-called entropic regularizations of the problems of the Optimal Transport. We will start from the basic properties of the classical problem and then analyze its historical entropic regularization: Schrödinger's problem. Weather permitting, we will also see some generalizations. Finally, we will analyze the famous Benamou--Brenier formulas for classical problems.
