Cinema and Hope
From his beginnings in the golden years of Italian cinema, to his latest productions in the new millennium, Ermanno Olmi has contributed to making the big screen a place of reflection and high thought – without ever renouncing stylistic researchand image perfection. The Open Lecture on the History of Cinema, which will host Marco Manzoni, author of the docu-film "Ermanno Olmi. The First Look" (2023), is dedicated to this Master who remained stubbornly anchored to his own value choices and to an idea of culture understood as an open look towards the future.
