Workshop | From 29 September 2025 to 30 September 2025

From light to nano

Brescia

Light interaction with nano and micro objects is a challenging field with many potential applications, ranging from biological systems to nanoplastics. When the light wavelength is approaching the system dimension, effects such as multiple scattering may have to be included in models or simulations to establish a morphology/refractive index relationship.
The workshop aims to bring together expert from adjacent fields to discuss the current developments of the experimental techniques and of the modelling issues to include effects beyond e.g. the Mie theory in the interpretation of experimental data.

Sessions

Monday afternoon
Session 1: optical detection techniques, nanostructure imaging
