Abstract
The MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocol has become one of the most popular communication standards in the Internet of Things (IoT) world due to its light weight and efficiency. This seminar aims to provide an overview of MQTT, starting from its fundamental features and functionalities to the evolution of the protocol from version 3.1 to the most recent version 5, highlighting the differences and characteristics that make this protocol ideal for communication between devices with limited resources.
You'll learn the basics of the publish-subscribe architecture on which the protocol is based, facilitating scalable message delivery and decoupling between clients. Finally, the main security risks of the protocol and some best practices for their mitigation will be discussed.
