Laura Gemini, PhD, is Associate Professor in Cultural and Communicative Processes at the Department of Communication Sciences, Humanities and International Studies (DISCUI) of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo where she teaches Sociology of imagery and visual culture and Media languages, performance and forms of the spectacle. Her research interests deal with the field of the performance studies with a focus on the relationship between performance, mediatization and liveness. She is principal investigator of the “Observatory on live audiences” - Reasearch Center LaRiCA, Department DISCUI, University of Urbino Carlo Bo. Among the most recent publications: Mass media and the web in the light of Luhmann’s media system (with G. Boccia Artieri, 2019), Antidoto liveness.
