Tuesday 24 March, 9.30 a.m.
Room SF209, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Largo Gemelli 1

"The blue at the top and the gold inside" are the colors of the Ukrainian flag but they are also the thoughts, desires, expectations of Valeria, a Ukrainian girl who at the outbreak of war arrives in Italy with her mother and little brother, welcomed by a grandmother who has lived in Italy for twenty years. Valeria begins to attend a school in Milan, and immediately makes friends with her classmates, who help her with her homework. The only one she misses so much is her dad, a good hockey player, who runs a small butcher's business in Ukraine. He decided to stay in Ukraine, but not to go fighting. Valeria has a real adoration for him, and perhaps also to follow her father's example she begins to attend a rhythmic gymnastics course with Anca Goia, Romanian Olympic champion in the 90s. A beautiful friendship is born between teacher and student. In Italy, Valeria began to win gold medals and dream of becoming a good professional athlete.
