MOVEO ERGO SUM: THE INTERTWINING OF BODY AND MIND

Milan

We not only have a body, we are a body, and we not only have a mind, but we are a mind.

Indeed, more: we are an inseparable union of body and mind.

The lesson, aimed at a wide audience and specifically at students of Psychology and Motor Sciences, will deal with this indissoluble integrity between body and mind, which is the basis of the identity of the person, and will illustrate many specular aspects between body and mind, the reciprocal influences between these and the importance of movement in permeating this intertwining.

In fact, there are many and surprising parallels and assonances between mental and bodily processes that find meaning in the integrated identity of the person.

Studies have often focused on the influence of the mind on the body (e.g. the various somatizations, the power of the mind on the body...), partially neglecting the influence of the body and its movement on the mind itself and on the broader general well-being of the person.
