"The value of public spaces"
In Western society, private property is one of the main institutions that regulate relationships between people. In this context, our cities must continue to preserve public spaces as a common good, protecting their high social value.
Ilaria Beretta - Graduate School for the Environment, Catholic University of Brescia
09.50 am – 10.20 am
"Data and AI for Cities: still in search of a narrative"
The technocratic model of 'smart cities' has been in crisis for some time, but there is still no real alternative on the horizon. Understanding and telling citizens about the role, possibilities and limits of computational approaches to urban life therefore becomes a key responsibility to help the urban transition to sustainability.

""On the road. Territories, people, stories on two wheels": even on TV the bicycle becomes a means of transport"
To communicate in an objective and engaging way the changes taking place in Italian cities. The role of the media in generating awareness and beauty through the story of the territory.
Alfredo Di Giovampaolo - Rainews24 correspondent

"There are no crazy cars, the wrong narrative of road collisions"
Van runs over mother and son; crazy car enters the bathing establishment; he couldn't do anything about it; here is the cursed curve; killer road. These are just a few examples of the language used by the media to describe cases of road violence. Words that tend to deprive drivers of responsibility, justify dangerous behavior for the most vulnerable and displace responsibility. A change in the language describing road violence is urgently needed.
