The first part of the seminar will focus on which are the most common mistakes to avoid to publish qualitative papers in top-tier journals from an editor’s perspective. It will discuss topics concerning early submission, revision process and how to respond to (contrasting) referees’ reports, framing and presenting the research question(s), identify the theoretical framework and contribution of the research

Second part (45/50 minutes)
An author’s view: A discussion with Jan Bebbington

The second part of the seminar will focus on the process to publish qualitative papers in a top-tier journal from an author’s perspective. Which are the different stages of development that a qualitative paper should have: From preliminary idea to final publication, asking the right research questions, framing and presenting the qualitative analysis, the theoretical contribution and the impact of the research, managing the review process.
